A Snap, A Set and A Song - Autumn

It's time again to link up with Thea at A Snap, A Set and A Song for this week's theme of Autumn. Yes, I know it is mid-spring here at the moment, but don't forget, Thea lives in Australia and it is Autumn there in the southern hemisphere.

The Snap

Autumn here in New York is a beautiful time of year. When the leaves turn to their fall colors, it is an amazing sight to see. This was early Autumn last year, and the leaves were just starting to turn.

The Set

Here in the US, the fall is an amazing time for sports fans, especially baseball fans. It's the time of the Fall Classic ... The World Series! My set highlights two of my favorite autumns.

The Song

No need to say anything - the music speaks for itself.

  1. The snap is gorgeous. I'm always so jealous of places that have such beautiful Autumn leaves. It's pretty much just green, then brown here.

I'm not much of a sports fan, but your set makes me want to go to a baseball game!!

    And great song...hehe :)

    Thanks again for linking.

    1. Sadly, last year's strange weather wasn't conducive to the real strong fall colors coming out. It got a bit stronger than what you see in that photo (at the duck pond which I am so fond of photographing), but not as colorful as in some years.

We have to have some color to make up for those beautifully colored birds which you have and we don't. ;-)

  2. Thank you Mark,
That was delightful. I would so love to see Central Park in all its seasons. I've been there in the summer only, when those trees gave wonderful shade from NYC's dog days of August.
    Thank you!

    1. The nice thing is - as amazing as Central Park is, there are wonderful places in the outer boroughs as well. The shot above was take at a duck pond in a park not far from my house on Staten Island. Brooklyn has its own Prospect Park, which the designer of both actually liked better. Queens and The Bronx can compete as well - and that is all within New York City!

  3. Trees in their autumn phase are just so, so pretty. I do actually think of New York or Canada when I think of autumn leaves. And the Vivaldi piece - I nearly chose it too - because it is so familiar and so brilliant! :)

    1. The US Northeast in Autumn is indeed a sight to see. And Canada is an amazingly beautiful country in its own right.

  4. Love FALL/Autumn the cooling of the breeze, slight oh so slight colouring of leaves. Cold nights, snugly mornings, warm not hot days. Fire ban over allowing camp fires in the yard at night, glass of red, blanket draped on shoulders. Kids running free squealing, playing in the crisp star studded night, marshmallows on sticks showing kids what the 'good ole days' were all about.

Thank you for this post. The photo is ever so pretty.
